Presentation Summary:
Governance Processes exist in nearly all organizations to facilitate the “GO” and “NO GO” decisions through program and/or project life cycles. This evening’s presentation will begin with an overview of what governance is, the purpose for governance at various phases (project initiation through closure) and the nuances to governance. Then you will hear real life examples of governance models from fellow PMI NEO members. The panel members will represent small, medium and large organizations where project management processes range in maturity and sophistication. Panel discussions will include perspectives from those on the governance board with their expectations, from the project manager needing to present to a governance body, and from members of a PMO that need to facilitate the governance process and their lessons learned. There will be opportunities to ask questions from these various experts. This meeting affords you the perfect opportunity to bring others from your company involved in governance processes to learn ways to improve your organization’s governance effectiveness.
