Volunteer Opportunities

It's easy to volunteer with the local chapter. We have standing committees that are always looking for help.
All members can contribute to the profession and to the chapter regardless of their certification status.
There are four (4) levels of volunteerism with the local chapter:
  • Board of Directors (Executive Level)
  • Officer (VP's)
  • Directors (Tactical Operations)
  • Volunteer (Advisor)
Board members are elected into office and serve a two-year term. The Board consists of a President, Secretary, Treasurer, two (2) Director-At-Larges.
Officers, given the title of Vice-Presidents, have leadership responsibilities within specific areas of the chapter. The Board appoints officers. We are always looking for passionate leaders that have the time and energy to lead the important aspects of the chapter. The current Officers consist of VP-Programs, VP-Professional Development, VP-Public Relations, VP-Communications, VP-Finance, VP-Administration, and Chief Operating Officer (COO). Volunteers are always needed to staff standing and ad-hoc committees. Examples of committees include:
  • Professional Development Days (PDD) - Logistics, Greeters, Bookstore, Speakers
  • Greeters for Chapter Events - Programs, PMO Forums, Dinner Meetings, PDD
  • Nominating Committee - find candidates for leadership positions within the Chapter
  • Speaker Committees - Find speakers for Programs, and PDD
  • Project of the Year Committee - review candidate projects to be nominated by the chapter for submission to PMI.
  • Kerzner Award Committee - review candidate project management professionals to be awarded the chapters project management excellence award.
  • Administration - Meeting Scribe, Chapter Success Measures
  • Vendor Coordinator - Coordinate contracts and build relationships with vendors on behalf of the chapter. Vendors are interested in newsletter and web ads, and booths at events.
  • Web Site Support - Update content, job postings, event postings
  • Program - Identifies speakers and subject content
